Nike carefully honed in on their target audience of runners by tracing their paths along the marathon route with wild posting on barricades. They also erected a giant Wallscape ad on the Venice Beach boardwalk to connect with those who head to the beach for their daily workout. From the lively streets of Echo Park to the sun-drenched boulevards of Venice Beach, Nike’s presence was palpable.

Do It… Where?

To make sure no runner was missed, Nike booked multiple units across Los Angeles, from the beginning of the marathon course in Echo Park all the way over to Melrose and La Brea. As the competitors ran the course, they were met with the quippy taglines, “LA’s easiest 26.2 miles,” “The best traffic is foot traffic,” and “Does anyone know the price of gas?” among others.

In addition to the barricade units, Nike also booked our Wallscape unit on Ocean Front Walk in Venice Beach. One of the largest by the beach, the board is impossible to miss! Nike still wasn’t done blanketing the area, placing their creatives on the sprawling barricade beneath the Wallscape unit to complete their takeover. A popular destination for tourists and locals alike, Ocean Front Walk was the perfect place to culminate the campaign.
